When I found this photo back in 1995 I fell in love with it. I made many copies of this photo and sold it on eBay. She was a big seller.

THE PHENOMENON
Have you ever laid down with a cat and locked eyes?
Did your breathing fall in cadence with their purring… in, then out, then in again.
When you lay your hand next to them, did they lay their paw atop your hand?
Had your cat ever lean in towards you to bonk heads with you, then hold it there?
Had your cat cleaned you, more than just your finger or hand, and for a prolonged period of time?
These are moments that not every person has the luxury to share with their cat.

Something of this magnitude, your bonding goes deeper. It’s a kinetic alignment between the two of you.

Not every human is susceptible to the spirit of the cat, nor ever cat susceptible to the spirit of a human.

Out of the 32 or so cats that have passed through my life, only five of them had I experience this phenomenon with.

Some parents had reported experiencing such as this with their children, though usually just a single child.

This is a bonding that transcends words. When it happens with a cat, or any animal, it is more noticeable being that our gestural communications between us is severely restricted while we must rely on a deeper resonance , a nonverbal connection. More so, a cerebral intimacy.

Do you really love cats? Do you wanna just play with them and rub your face in their belly-fur just to listen to them purrr purrr purrr? ME TOO!!!  Some cat lovers don't have that luxury but, WAIT!!!!  Yes They Can... Read On!

Amy, one of FelineEnvy's loyal readers asked me which cat, if any, would she be able to adopt and not sneeze her head off after touching and playing with the cat.  She's tired of having to wear a face mask and gloves just to pet a cat. She went on to humorously say: "Using gloves feels.... so unnatural". Touche', Amy! LOL.

Amy, we are so sorry to hear about your frustrating situation. The 10 breeds listed below (and a few others not on the list) seemed to be the most popular of the "Allergey Free Breeds" of cats.

This list is not in any discerning order, only alphabetical order.  Click the links next to each breed to read more about the splendors and characteristics of each breed.

Also, if you are the experimental type; visit with a few breeders of these cats and see if you have any immediate reaction... OR ...have a few breeders send you a small baggie of fur.  Make sure your carry along an antihistamine or something to counteract a reaction should you have one.   Maneki Neko be with you!

Who is your favorite 2014 internet cat?

Hello FelineEnviers,

I have been very blessed this year.  My family is healthy and happy. My three cats allow me to sleep in the same bed with them, even though it’s only a small corner furthest away from the window.

Only when each of the three of them have found their snuggle-spot will they lilt out a chortle to let me know that it’s ok for me to join them on the bed.

I hope that each of you are as in love with your fur-family as I am with mine.

My 2014 Gratefulness Acknowledgment:  If there is one take away message that I learned so dearly this year… It is that I have won the Geographical Lottery of a lifetime just by being born within the United States Of America. There is more hope for people who have been born here in the US than in any other country or on any other continent in the world.

Oh yeah…. Thanks for taking such great care of all those fur-buddies.

How I Almost got tossed out of Petco today…

I was shopping at a local petco today for what else… cat presents for my three boys, Neko Ichi (eech), Neko Ni (Nee), and Bitoku Neko (Bee Toe Koo).

As I was meandering about in search of some awesome cat goodies I stumbled upon cat beds, scratching posts and cat towers.

I was so impressed and enamored with the cat towers that I wanted to buy them all. Some had platforms and hidden passages while others had a perch atop a tower that stood at lease five foot off the ground. I was going bonkers with excitement picturing my three boys romping around on these magnificently constructed towers.

I grabbed the biggest, most awesome cat tower box of all and started to open the box. The box was filled with all sorts of padded perches and rope clad posts and a springy feathery thing that I had no idea what it was. As I was about to pull the last item out of this massive box, a Petco employee was passing by and asked me if I needed any assistance. I said “No Thanx” as I proceeded to place the content of the box back on to the shelf and place the now empty box in my shopping cart.

The Petco Employee, whom we will call “Joe“, asked me in a gruff tone what the heck I thought I was doing. I stopped pushing the cart and turned back towards “Joe” and said, Come on Joe, we both know damned well that I am going to pay $198 for this cat tower, take it home, and while I am laboring vigorously over assembling this tower, the cats will ultimately just end up playing with the box thus, I have no need for the tower. … and I shall have saved myself $198 and tax.

I began to share with my new friend Joe, the simplicity of American Capitalism and that I do not need the tower but rather, only the box, which leaves the tower for him to sell for a nice profit. Joe bewilderingly lowered, then slowly shook his head, as he hesitantly walked towards the manager’s office. Thus, How I almost got tossed out of Petco today.

I wonder if I really had walked into Petco and started to pull the content out of a cat tower box. What would management actually do?

Oh Yea….  The story that you just read was the entertainment which occupied my weird little brain whilst strolling through Petco today. Though I did not steal any boxes, I did manage to buy my boys a few cat toys, and other cat goodies while I was there.
